A new study shows that early literacy work, like that being done by ³ÉÈ˿첥 of Sacramento, helps students not only improve their reading, but also social and emotional learning skills.
The two-year study was conducted in Sacramento and across California. ³ÉÈ˿첥 Sacramento is a community fueled, one-on-one tutoring program.
A lot of times, when children are not successful in school, it’s not really due to the fact that they don’t have the intellectual ability— it’s really due to the fact that they have behavior challenges that really get in the way of learning. So they end up six months, two years behind grade level.

So we found that our programs, because it is a one-to-one, mentoring type of relationship between a student and their tutor— that trusting loving contact every week with a caring adult, really changes how that child feels about themselves.
