Local nonprofit delivered over 18,000 one-on-one tutoring sessions and nearly 16,000 books to hundreds of students in North Texas last year

DALLAS, TX – September 8, 2023聽聽鈥� While 成人快播鈥� online tutoring platform, 成人快播 Connects, was largely developed to help support students during the pandemic, the national nonprofit organization has worked to make its online tutoring even more interactive and to broaden the reach of the program to more students through national and community partnerships

鈥淎t 成人快播, we know that children who are learning to read thrive in an environment where they get individualized support and one-on-one attention. We work closely with our schools to provide early intervention for students so they are on grade level by 3rd grade, giving them the confidence they need to be successful in school and life.鈥� – Kimberly Benavides, 成人快播 North Texas Executive Director

Another new initiative 成人快播 has been focused on is writing and publishing original books to be used in its own curriculum. COVER to COVER is a new book series that enables 成人快播 to develop content that is aligned with the science of reading as well as the scope and sequence of the organization鈥檚 online and in-person curricula. The stories include representative characters and themes so all students can see themselves reflected in the books they read while also having the opportunity to learn about the world around them through other people’s backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.

2022-23 results highlight the literacy progress of 成人快播鈥� students

In the 2022-23 school year, 成人快播 continued to provide critical literacy support to students, schools, and communities. In fact, the nonprofit provided one-on-one literacy tutoring to more local students in the 2022-23 school year than the prior year. Each year, 成人快播 publishes reports highlighting student performance for the national organization and for each of its 12 respective regions across the country. The impact reports for the 2022-23 school year have recently been posted on聽聽and include the following highlights in North Texas.

• 676聽students received 12+ sessions of one-on-one tutoring

• 18,288聽total tutoring sessions were delivered to those same students

• 810聽community tutors supported students

• 15,969聽books were distributed to students through the 鈥淭ake Reading With You鈥� program

• 85%聽of all 成人快播 students finished the year meeting or exceeding their primary end-of-year literacy growth goals

Volunteer support will help drive student impact in North Texas

Heading into the new school year, 成人快播 North Texas anticipates needing 900 community volunteers to support students’ literacy development. Please follow聽聽if you鈥檙e interested in investing one hour a week to help empower a student through reading.
